We Delivered Fertilizer To Displaced Farmers In Kajuru

This week, we delivered fertilizer to displaced farmers in kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
One of the reasons Reuben Buhari and I started RADi was to be able to empower the displaced communities, so the displaced people can at least, feed themselves. Imagine my excitement when I found out that one of the perks of participating in the United State’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) was that I could carry out a project in my community. Of course, I decided on RADi’s Fertilizer Birth Initiative: we give the farmers fertilizer, and they return an agreed number of bags of grains after harvest. These bags of grains are used to feed the displaced people that did not get the opportunity to farm. The beneficiaries are able to feed themselves, earn an income and also help feed other people. This made all of us at RADi, very happy. But definitely not as happy as the beneficiaries.

For this project, funding is provided by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs with Meridian International Center as the implementing partner.
